Spectra UL633N 3-Axis Universal Grade Laser
The Spectra Precision UL633N Universal Laser is the the only construction laser that provides the ability to control level, alignment, single/dual grade and vertical – allowing you to do more work with one tool. The Spot Finder offers additional versatility for 90-degree layout applications on concrete pads as well as indoors for wall layout.

The Spectra Precision UL633N Universal Laser is an advanced three-axis construction and grade laser designed for demanding levelling, alignment, grading and layout applications.
Unlike a conventional rotary or dual grade laser, the UL633N provides automatic control across the X, Y and Z axes, allowing it to perform horizontal levelling, single and dual grade, vertical alignment and specialised layout tasks with one instrument.
With a fully compensated grade range of up to ±25%, Automatic Grade Match, PlaneLok and Automatic Axis Alignment, the UL633N is particularly well suited to civil construction, concrete work, drainage, site preparation and complex grading applications where accuracy and efficient setup are critical.
The package also includes two Spectra HL760 digital receivers and an SF601 SpotFinder, providing a complete professional system for grade, alignment and layout work.
Three-Axis X, Y and Z Control
The UL633N is designed to provide automatic control across all three axes.
Traditional X and Y axis control handles horizontal levelling and grade applications, while Spectra's specialised fan-beam technology enables control of the Z axis for vertical alignment and layout.
This makes the UL633N suitable for applications including:
- Single and dual grade work
- Drainage and earthworks
- Concrete pads and slabs
- Site preparation
- Driveways and ramps
- Vertical alignment
- Wall and formwork layout
- 90-degree layout
- Complex intersecting grades
- General construction levelling
Up to ±25% Grade Capability
The UL633N provides a large, fully compensated grade range of ±25% on the X and Y axes, as well as up to ±25% on the Z axis.
This extended grade capability allows contractors to establish significant slopes while maintaining an accurate laser reference, making the UL633N particularly useful for civil, drainage and earthmoving applications.
Automatic Grade Match
Automatic Grade Match allows the UL633N to automatically locate the on-grade position at a receiver and calculate the resulting grade.
This is particularly useful where an existing slope needs to be replicated but the exact percentage is unknown.
Typical applications include:
- Matching existing driveways
- Reinstating existing surfaces
- Drainage work
- Matching ramps or graded areas
- Extending an established fall
Rather than manually calculating the existing slope, the laser and receiver communicate to determine the required grade automatically.
Automatic Axis Alignment
Correctly aligning a grade laser with a grade hub is critical, as even a small alignment error can become significantly larger over distance.
The UL633N's Automatic Axis Alignment function helps automatically align the laser axis with the required grade direction, reducing setup time and helping eliminate costly alignment errors.
The system can also align two axes that are not positioned at 90 degrees to one another.
This can be particularly valuable when constructing complex concrete pads or drainage channels where two graded surfaces intersect at an irregular angle.
PlaneLok for Consistent Accuracy
The PlaneLok function locks the laser plane to a receiver at a fixed position.
This helps compensate for changes that might otherwise affect the reference plane, including temperature fluctuations or movement over extended periods of operation.
PlaneLok is especially useful for long-duration construction work where maintaining a consistent reference elevation or alignment is important.
SF601 SpotFinder Included
The included SF601 SpotFinder automatically detects the UL633N's plumb or fan beam.
This provides additional capability for:
- 90-degree layout on concrete pads
- Vertical alignment
- Wall layout
- Interior construction
- Transferring alignment points
The SpotFinder can be used for both manual and automatic detection of the plumb beam.
Two HL760 Digital Receivers Included
The UL633N package includes two Spectra HL760 advanced digital laser receivers.
The HL760 provides a digital readout of the receiver's position relative to grade, allowing the operator to see the actual offset rather than relying solely on directional arrows or audible signals.
Having two receivers also enables advanced UL633N functions such as automatic axis alignment and complex grade setups.
Anti-Vibration Filter
Construction lasers mounted on tall tripods can be affected by strong winds, ground movement and machinery vibration.
The UL633N includes an adjustable anti-vibration filter that allows the laser to continue operating reliably under challenging site conditions.
This can help reduce interruptions and unnecessary resets on active construction sites.
Mask Mode
The UL633N includes a virtual Mask Mode that allows the rotating laser beam to be turned off on up to three sides.
This can help:
- Prevent reflections from glass or reflective surfaces
- Reduce interference with other lasers
- Avoid unwanted laser signals on neighbouring work areas
- Improve receiver reliability on busy construction sites
Rugged IP67 Construction
The UL633N is engineered for demanding professional environments and carries an IP67 dust and waterproof rating.
It is designed to withstand:
- A drop of up to 1 metre onto concrete
- A tripod tip-over of approximately 1.5 metres
- Dust, rain and demanding jobsite conditions
- Operating temperatures from -20°C to +50°C
The UL633N is also backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
